Sesht…honestly, has been doing a LOT of walking. She’s trying to track down her sisters. She may have actually found 4, but the conversation was…strange. Perhaps strained. She want to do something for Special Lion, but as of yet she can’t.

3…sails the oceans. That’s going to be harder to nail down.

Anyway, I planned at some point at maneuvering Lion into asking Sesht when she returned if she knew anything about Lillun.

Lion…had been warned, obliquely, about the consequences of this.

but first you will remind her of what she fled from
you will ask her about the pearl
and she will remember that she still burns
_and it will be better that you did this
because the pearl’s suffering serves nobody at all
and centuries later in her last moments you will know where it could have never started at all

Making Sesht remember the plight of Lillun would have given shape and tentative form to the ink-swirl that prophesied: As Lion’s sister clenched her fists bloody and stared in silent horror, a long, prayer-strip-like sheet of paper would form, and ink would bleed through in words:

i warned you.

It would be the first real cleaving of Sesht’s soul.

Molnasi—who embodies that the truth hurts but is necessary—would eventually take the form of a great serpent of interwoven parchments.

The psychic shockwaves that it sent through Sesht might have actually made Tetrateuch cry out, which would mean an end to his torture.

But the point is that this step is where Sesht’s progression towards becoming a Primordial becomes more or less inevitable.

In my mind, her story ends with her and Lion on the edge of the world. She can’t really hold herself together any longer, and she’s cutting herself to leave scars she cannot forget: to remind herself that she loves Creation and it’s worth protecting. To remind herself that she loves her sisters and their lives had and have meaning.

She burns up from the inside, eventually leaving a her-shaped hole in the everything that burns wider and wider like burning away a curtain to reveal her Primordial World-Jouten, which becomes something like a successor to Adriàn.
